De figuratieve kunst van beeldend kunstenaar Kay kenmerkt zich door gelaagdheid waar kleur, licht en vorm samenkomen.

“Ik werk intuïtief en vanuit mijn emotie. Dat doe ik met fotografie, tekenen en schilderen. In mijn schilderwerken breng ik als basis een kleur aan. Van daaruit bouw ik kleur op. De uiteindelijke verschijningsvorm kan veranderen van mijn oorspronkelijke intentie. Hiermee ook de betekenis. Het is een voortdurend proces waarin gevoel de boventoon voert."

"Met mijn kunst wil ik mensen raken. Het is mooi te zien dat het verschillende, vaak gevoelige emoties oproept zonder enige toelichting. Iedereen is dan ook vrij er een eigen interpretatie aan te geven.”

Kay studeerde aan de Wayne State University in Detroit en voltooide haar Masters bij kunstenaars Ralph Prins in Den Haag en Sam Drukker in Amsterdam.

The works of visual artist Kay Gotlieb-Wallace are characterized by layering, where color, light and form come together. She originally started painting with oils and acrylics, and began to experiment with gauche, ink, charcoal and pastels. Her artworks have evolved over the years into sensitive, poetic mixtures of color and emotion.

"I am inspired by nature and work intuitively. My paintings are created through layers and layers of color. It is through this process that a form appears. The final appearance may change from my original intention; with this also the meaning. It's an organic ongoing process in which feeling prevails. I use this method in photography, drawing and painting. With my art I want to touch people’s inner self. It is nice to see that it evokes different, often sensitive emotions without any form of explanation or judgement from me. Everyone is therefore free to give their own interpretation to my art work.”

Kay Gotlieb-Wallace received her Bachelor of Arts from Wayne State University in Detroit and completed her postgraduate studies in the studios of artists Ralph Prins in The Hague, the Netherlands and Sam Drukker in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
